OAA Members Encouraged to Invite @oregonaquaculture as Collaborator when Posting on Instagram

OAA members who are active on Instagram are encouraged to use the ‘invite collaborator’ function when posting about anything relevant to the industry.

Instagram’s collaboration feature allows two (or more) users share the same post to their feed. This tool lets a user co-post content with another Instagram user, which means that the post will show up on both Instagram profiles.

By using the collaboration feature, we can significantly expand our social media reach and increase user engagement by using both feeds to share a similar message. Unifying our messaging has become vital to our industry, and tools like this help to synthesize our industry’s voice.

When posting on Instagram, please consider inviting @oregonaquaculture as a collaborator to your post. Note that @oregonaquaculture (or anyone else you invite to collaborate on the post) will not have editing capabilities to your post.

To invite a collaborator to your Instagram post, when posting:

1. After uploading your Reel or feed post, go to the share screen, and tap “Tag People”.
2. In the bottom right corner, you’ll see an option to “Invite Collaborator”. After tapping, search for and choose @oregonaquaculture.
3. After you’ve chosen the collaborator, share the post as usual, and @oregonaquaculture will receive a request in their DMs. The post will not appear until the request has been accepted
