FivePine Lodge & Conference Center welcomed pond school enthusiasts to Sisters, Ore.
At the registration area, key sponsors provided information to attendees. Sponsors were Oregon Aquaculture Association, Oregon State University Extension Service and AquaFish Collaborative Research Support Program.

An adjoining room had displays from presenters, fish producers and others. Here, Columbia Catfish & Bass and Mt. Hood Community College Fisheries Technology Program, drew interest from the audience.
Dr. Stan Gregory, professor from Oregon State University, presented information on “Pond Ecology” to 90 attendees.
Lyle Negus, Manager of Desert Springs Trout Farm (left), enjoyed the event with Jim Bowman, Conference Coordinator and presenter for “Pond Construction, Repair & Maintenance”.
Laura Tesler, presenter from Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, shares ideas on permitted fish species with Paul Kay, Rogue Water Consulting.
Ken Dunder, Owner of Santiam Valley Ranch, shares information about raising warm-water fish.
Kathy Bridges, Conference Coordinator, prepares for wine tasting with Shama, our bartender from FivePine Lodge. Wines were provided by FivePine Lodge & Conference Center and from Ste. Michelle Wineries. Wine tasting was accompanied by smoked trout provided by Desert Springs Trout Farm.
The evening presentation included Sue Beilke, a presenter from Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, sharing ideas about protecting Oregon’s native pond turtles. A big surprise was holding live pond turtles!
