March 11, 2006
Oregon Garden, Silverton, Oregon
Sponsored by: Oregon Aquaculture  Association and OSU Extension Service

Pond School 2006  |  Presenters  |  Presentations  |  Brochure

Joe Roehleder (right), well-know lobbyist in Salem, enjoys the workshop with his friend, Hobart Manns and Angie Negus, Desert Springs Trout Farm
Gary Brian, Brian Trout Ranch, exchanges information with Kathy Rogers, River Refuge Seed Company in Brownsville, OR, at the vendor display area. Kathy and her husband Dave raise seed for native wetland and upland plants of the Pacific Northwest.
Hobart Manns, luncheon speaker, coordinates raffle drawing. Items included were gift certificates from GI Joes, items from Outback Angler, antique fishing lures provided by Hobart Manns and custom made walking sticks from Brian Trout Ranch. The aquarium was set up by Louis Hans, Columbia Catfish & Bass, and contained bass and channel catfish.
Hobart Manns, Clint Bentz, and David Williams
Anne Rystrom (right) from Clear Creek Rainbow Ranch, shares information about her aquaculture facility to Meiriella Manns.
Lyle Negus (right) from Desert Springs Trout Farm learns about native pond turtles from Jane Hartline who works at Oregon Zoo. Oregon Zoo has a breeding program to promote protection of the Western Pond Turtles.
The crowd of 110 participants enjoyed Pond Workshop 101 at Oregon Garden in Silverton. The day...crisp and cold and sunny...welcome pond owners and professionals from throughout the state. The only problem was the sunny day which conflicted with indoor power point presentations. In Oregon, you get your choice...power point or a sunny day.
